I thought the 40s were supposed to be a time of prudishness? Or at least an attempt at it. Ginger Rogers appears at the Oscars wearing an outfit that would probably be scandalous by today's standards. Clutching her award for 'Kitty Foyle' alongside Jimmy Stewart, she puts on a virginal smile as though we could ignore what lies beneath it. |
