According to celebrity gossip website PerezHilton.com, some news has been released that's sure to send housewives across the nation into fits of despair.
Even daytime TV is feeling the economic pinch, as Days of Our Lives executive producer Ken Corday affirms.
Soap stars Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn (Marlena and John Black) are getting the axe, victims of the show's recent massive budget cuts.
That's right, they've been laid off.

Famous for their portrayals of the popular Marlena and John, the tempestuous lovers will "be happily reunited after a long period of angst and separation and will be off-screen after January for an unknown period of time," according to Corday.
He adds that it was a "very tough decision to make."
Days fans won't take this quietly - Marlena and John are among the most popular characters (and most likely have the larger salaries).
