Television is full of negative characters. Most of them populate daily soap operas but over the years a large number have booted out the likes of Ross and Chandler and found a space on primetime TV. Tony Soprano wasn't exactly a good guy, nor are the two saucy surgeons on Nip/Tuck. But these men are so steeped in the world of fiction that one would be hard pressed to imagine viewers would ever consider them as role models.
Enter the women of primetime drama.
In 1994, Angela Chase slouched across the screen with braided Rayanne Graf trailing behind her. With these two girls came a new kind of heroine, one that was so close to reality it was hard for viewers not to look up to her. The following are the ten women of TV who we have been the quickest to emulate, but who are not at all what they are cracked up to be.

We still can't believe an entire show revolves around the wisp that is Meredith. Supposedly smart and sassy, she is the least interesting of Seattle Grace's brood. Mer follows McDreamy around like a love-sick puppy and can't seem to forgive her own family members despite being highly flawed herself. It's too bad the hospital's powers of resuscitation are so good. |
