Fashion Police at the Oscars: Massive Baubles, Modest Make-Up Rule

This was one of the few years where red carpet trends were painfully obvious. A number of off-the-shoulder dresses mingled with economically baffling jewelry that seemed to get bigger with each new arrival. The only thing less glitzy about the red carpet this year was the modestly made up faces (a welcome trend, if I do say so myself) and subtle hair styles. It's years like this that make you wish that Cher would get off the Las Vegas stage and come here to throw us a bone.
