Hollywood operates under the belief that winning an Oscar is the be all and end all of an actor's careeer. But not every star has the career trajectory of Angelina Jolie who won Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for 'Girl Interrupted' and is now referred to as Santa Angelina by bloggers. No, some careers turn out like Michael Cimino's, the director of 'Deer Hunter' who won Best Picture in 1978 and then faded into obscurity. Post-Oscar Losers

Award: 1995 Best Supporting Actress, 'Mighty Aphrodite.'
Now: After winning her Oscar for playing a call girl in Woody Allen's comedy, Mira Sorvino appeared in 'Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion' and then, well, dissappeared. Not literally, of course. She has stuck to low budget (bad) independent films, gotten married, had a baby. Oh, and she has some bettle excretion named after her to celebrate her role as an entomologist in 'Mimic.'
